Role: Art Direction — Identity, Web & Print

UBR Studio is a Brooklyn–based furniture design practice working at the intersection of materiality, craft, and spatial thinking.

Concept

Furniture design studios face a particular challenge: the work is tactile, dimensional, and experienced in person — but the identity has to communicate that quality on a flat screen. UBR needed a visual system as considered as the objects it makes.

approach

Built a typographic identity and image presentation system rooted in structure and proportion. Defined rules for how work is sequenced, scaled, and lit — so the photography communicates material quality and craft rather than just documenting the objects. Applied consistently across the studio’s website, print materials, and client-facing documents.

Outcome

An identity that recedes into the work rather than competing with it — letting the objects hold the space.
